The Malaysia Services Exhibition (MSE) was held for the third time at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 - 15 April 2010. It was officially launched on the 13th of April 2010 by Y.B. Dato' Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister of International Trade and Industry and Her Highness Sheikha Lubna Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, UAE.The event is a major effort, initiated by the government, to promote and develop Malaysia's services sector. The MSE 2010, among others, is aimed at promoting Malaysian services to West Asia and surrounding region as well as providing an avenue for Malaysian companies to network and forge strategic alliances with potential clients and partners overseas A total of 180 Malaysian exhibitors comprising 150 service providers and 30 agencies participated in MSE 2010 which highlighted the excellence and capabilities of Malaysian companies in eight sectors, namely professional services, construction, oil and gas, ICT, healthcare, education & specialised training, franchising and financial services. MSE 2010 received over 3,700 visitors comprising senior government officials from United Arab Emirates (UAE), businessmen and representatives from major and well established companies in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Yemen, Bahrain, Libya, Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Ethiopia, Palestin, Iran, Uzbekistan, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, Sri Lanka and USA. 'International Partner Matchmaking (IPM)', a one-to-one business meeting session between Malaysian exhibitors and international partners was organised in conjunction with MSE 2010. A total of 30 foreign partners from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Yemen, India, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan participated in the IPM session. During the three-day event, Malaysian exhibitors identified potential projects worth RM12 billion. The projects identified are not only in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but also in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, Iraq, India, Libya, Sudan, Oman, Syria, Uzbekistan and Ethiopia. |
